Plan for daytime lane restrictions on SR 72 in Bouse beginning Aug. 28

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for eastbound lane restrictions on State Route 72 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. beginning Thursday, Aug. 28, for concrete placement.

The following lane restrictions will occur  Thursday, Aug. 28, Wednesday, Sept. 3 and Friday, Sept. 5.

  • Eastbound SR 72 will be reduced to one lane between milepost 24 and milepost 30 with alternating traffic control via flagging operation.
  • A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place. 
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.

Delays are likely, so allow extra travel time. Proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.

Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation is anticipated to start a project fall of 2025 to repair the pavement on State Route 72 between milepost 20 and milepost 30 in Bouse.

Project Elements

  • Milling and replacing the existing pavement with new pavement
  • Replacing guardrail and guardrail end terminals
  • Installing new fence and pipe end sections
  • Installing new ford walls
  • Replacing signage, pavement markings and other related work
