The Arizona Department of Transportation, in coordination with the Maricopa Association of Governments and the cities of Phoenix and Peoria, is planning for improvements to Loop 303 between Lake Pleasant Parkway and Interstate 17 that will include an additional general purpose lane in each direction, bridges to accommodate a future interchange at 67th Avenue, and a new Loop 303/I-17 system-to-system interchange. The project seeks to address growing traffic demands on Loop 303.

The Arizona Department of Transportation made improvements to the interchange at State Route 347 and Old Maricopa Road, north of the city of Maricopa. The $1.3 million project included installation of new traffic signals and construction of north- and southbound acceleration lanes for traffic entering SR 347 at Old Maricopa Road.
ADOT has several planned improvement projects on the State Route 347 corridor between Interstate 10 and State Route 238 in the city of Maricopa. This segment of SR 347 is located primarily within the Gila River Indian Community (GRIC). Therefore, all studies and projects are being coordinated with GRIC, in accordance with federal and state regulations.
