The Arizona Department of Transportation is completing a signal project at the intersection of State Route 87 and Ruins Drive near the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument in Coolidge.
Motorists may encounter occasional lane closures and intermittent delays while work is underway. Access to the National Monument and nearby businesses will be maintained at all times.
Major elements of the project include:
- A new traffic signal
- Median modifications on SR 87
- Sidewalk and curb improvements
Work is scheduled to begin in late February of 2019 and end by late summer. The project is set to be completed in two phases with initial work starting primarily on the medians and east side of the intersection. The new signals and most work on the west side of the intersection will begin mid-summer.
Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
