The Arizona Department of Transportation is completing a project to rehabilitate and preserve the pavement on Interstate 8 from the Pinal/Maricopa county line (near milepost 146) to near Bianco Road (near milepost 170).
Preliminary guardrail work is underway, which requires daytime single-lane closures where construction activity is occurring. No ramp closures are necessary for this portion of the work.
Paving work is set to begin during the summer of 2019. I-8 will remain open at all times, but drivers should expect intermittent lane closures. In addition, short-term ramp closures will be required.
The project is expected to run through late 2019.
Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
