Loop 303 from Interstate 10 to State Route 30

Study Update: March 23, 2015

In 2013, ADOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) reinitiated the study of Loop 303 south of Van Buren Street to SR 30. The project team continues to work on the Environmental Assessment (EA) and Design Concept Report (DCR). Although it was initially indicated that this report could be completed in fall 2014, currently there is no time frame for when the EA and DCR will be finalized.

Once complete, the documents will be posted to this project website, and a public hearing will be scheduled. If you would like to be notified via email when the report is complete or hearing is scheduled, please subscribe to the Loop 303 South email notification. The hearing will be your opportunity to provide feedback on the project and on the EA and DCR.

Construction of Loop 303 south, between I-10 to Van Buren Street, is anticipated to begin in fall 2015. Although the initial construction will extend Loop 303 to Van Buren Street, the study plans for a farther extension of Loop 303 to the proposed SR 30, with construction anticipated to begin in 2023 and conclude in 2024, per the Regional Transportation Plan.

The proposed ultimate plan for Loop 303 includes four general-purpose lanes and one high-occupancy vehicle (carpool) lane in each direction for the entire length of the project.
