Expect long delays on State Route 179 in Sedona starting May 13
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for long delays as a pavement project is scheduled to begin May 13 on State Route 179 between Sedona and Interstate 17, through the Village of Oak Creek.
This project will apply a chip-seal coat to SR 179 between the Red Rock Ranger Station and the Chapel Road roundabout.
- Work is scheduled for five consecutive days, during daylight hours (5 a.m. to 7 p.m.) No weekend work is scheduled.
- Pilot cars and flaggers will provide traffic control.
- Speed limits will be reduced.
- ADOT advises drivers to expect long delays.
