The Arizona Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration are performing bridge repair work on the Verde River bridge on Interstate 17 between mileposts 287 and 289 within the city of Camp Verde in Yavapai County. The purpose of this project is to retrofit the existing bridge foundations with new, reinforced concrete. This work will require a rechanneling of the Verde River under the bridge, in two phases to remove sediment from the 12 Verde River bridge piers, which will close the Verde River through the construction zone to water recreation from early fall 2019 through late spring 2020.
