US 60 (Grand Avenue) Frontage Road Improvement Project: Greenway Road to Thompson Ranch Road/Thunderbird Road

The Arizona Department of Transportation is planning to improve the US 60 (Grand Avenue) frontage roads between approximately Greenway Road and Thompson Ranch Road/Thunderbird Road in the city of El Mirage. The purpose of the project is to improve and enhance the frontage roads and to relocate the frontage road access to Grand Avenue in the vicinity of the Acoma Drive intersection. Work is scheduled to include the removal and replacement of asphalt, sidewalk and sidewalk ramps; installation of improved drainage facilities, roadway lighting, landscape and irrigation; installation of a fence between US 60 and the BNSF Railway; and other related work.

Project Schedule

Construction began summer 2018 and is scheduled to be completed by summer 2019.
