Project Postcard | Project Fact Sheet

Construction of the new $30 million traffic interchange on Interstate 10, west of Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) in Avondale, is scheduled to begin in fall 2018. The project includes building a bridge over I-10 at Fairway Drive, between Dysart Road and Avondale Boulevard, to help support economic development and provide additional capacity in the fast-growing West Valley.

When the interchange is completed in 2020, drivers will be able to use on-and off-ramps to make connections to and from Fairway Drive south of I-10. Note: Fairway Drive does not travel north of I-10, where Friendship Park is located.

Primary funding sources are the half-cent sales tax in Maricopa County for freeway, street and transit projects, as well as state and federal transportation funds.

Project Schedule

Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2018. The project is anticipated to take approximately 14 months to complete.  Please allow extra travel time along I-10 and surrounding areas as delays can be expected. Night work and weekend work are anticipated.
