Central District Projects
Interstate 10 and 40th Street Ramp Improvements
The Arizona Department of Transportation is re-striping and re-signing the westbound I-10 and 40th Street off-ramp in Phoenix to improve safety and movement of traffic. This project includes changing the existing “no right turn on red” configuration to a continuous, free-flow right-turn lane onto northbound 40th Street with no stop required.
ADOT will also reconfigure the center lane, which currently allows right or left turns, into a left through lane for drivers re-accessing westbound I-10.
Work is scheduled to occur in early 2018 and will require at least one overnight full closure of the westbound I-10 40th Street off-ramp and restrictions on 40th Street at I-10. ADOT will provide notification prior to restrictions and closures. Subscribe to receive project updates and traffic alerts by email.
