Construction continues at Avenue 3E bridge in Yuma next week

Lane restrictions planned during work hours

August 16, 2012

The project to improve and widen the bridge at Avenue 3E between Gila Ridge Road and 24th Street in Yuma will require temporary one lane closures Thursday, August 23 and Friday, August 24, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. One northbound turn lane at the intersection of Avenue 3E and Gila Ridge Road will be closed between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. both days. The closures will provide a safe work zone as crews pour concrete beside the bridge.

What to expect next week:

  • Crews will continue working weekdays between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Crews are scheduled to close one northbound turn lane at the intersection of Avenue 3E and Gila Ridge Road during work hours Thursday and Friday.
  • Business access will be maintained.
  •  Reduced speed limits through the work zone.

The project is a cooperative effort between ADOT and the City of Yuma and is scheduled for completion in summer 2013.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
