The Arizona Department of Transportation began a project in November to reconstruct the Dripping Springs Wash Bridge, which is located eight miles north of Winkelman.
Work is being conducted on half of the bridge at a time with the northbound lane just being completed. Work is now shifting to the southbound portion of the bridge, and traffic will use the newly constructed northbound lane. To conduct the work safely, a traffic signal will be used to regulate traffic across the bridge in alternating directions. Motorists will experience short delays as the signal transitions through its cycle. There will be narrowed traffic lanes, a reduced speed limit and wide-load restrictions through the work zone.
The $2 million project is now halfway completed and is on schedule to be finished midsummer.
