I-10 Rubberized Asphalt Paving near Buckeye

This project involves paving westbound Interstate 10 near Buckeye with a new layer of smooth, durable rubberized asphalt. The project boundaries extend from Verrado Way to State Route 85. Rubberized asphalt paving was completed in November 2016.  Crews will return in early 2017 for lane striping.

Drivers should plan for slower traffic and allow extra travel time while work is underway. Restrictions or closures of on- and off-ramps in the project area also will be necessary and detours will be in place. Signage will guide drivers along detour routes. ADOT advises drivers to obey posted speed limits in the work zone and watch for construction equipment and personnel.

Because rubberized-asphalt paving is a temperature-sensitive process, ADOT can only do this type of work in and around the Phoenix Metro region during spring and fall.  Learn more about the many benefits of rubberized asphalt in the ADOT Blog.  ADOT completed a similar project on eastbound I-10 in 2015.
