Map I-40 Dead River Bridge rehabilitation

Overview

Project Cost: $30 million

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Navajo Nation, has initiated two projects east of Holbrook along Interstate 40 this spring. They include:

  • Dead River Bridge Rehabilitation (milepost 316) 
  • A pavement life-extension project

This project is complete

Project Cost: $10.7 million

The Arizona Department of Transportation is working on a pavement life-extension project on Interstate 40 west of the city of Holbrook (mileposts 278-283). The 5-mile-long project between Joseph City and Perkins Valley Road is scheduled to be completed this fall.

This project is complete

The Arizona Department of Transportation has completed a rehabilitation project on the Hermosa Drive Bridge over Interstate 40 in Holbrook. The bridge is located at milepost 288 on I-40.

The Arizona Department of Transportation has completed a pavement life extension project on Interstate 40 through the city of Holbrook (mileposts 283-290). The 7-mile-long project was completed in the summer of 2023.

The Arizona Department of Transportation has completed a pavement preservation project on State Route 260 in the Fort Apache Indian Reservation (mileposts 357-361).

The Arizona Department of Transportation has completed a bridge deck rehabilitation project on the Moenkopi Wash Bridge. The bridge is located on State Route 264 between the communities of Tuba City and Second Mesa (milepost 324), approximately two miles east of the US 160 junction.

The Arizona Department of Transportation has completed a pavement preservation project on State Route 264 east of Tuba City on the Hopi Indian Reservation (mileposts 360-374).

Project Cost: $1.7 million

The Arizona Department of Transportation has initiated a pavement project along State Route 377 between Heber-Overgaard and Holbrook.
