Central Credential Issuance
For your Safety and Security
The Arizona Department of Transportation has begun a new process for issuing Arizona driver licenses and identification cards.
Customers purchasing a new or duplicate driver license, identification card or instruction permit at MVD or Authorized Third Party offices will receive their credential in the mail at the address listed on their application. Customers should allow up to 15 days to receive it in the mail.
A temporary credential with the cardholder's photo will be issued at the time of a visit to an MVD or Authorized Third Party office.
There is no need to update a current license or ID to the new design. Valid credentials do not need replacement until they expire or require a photo update. Customers can still order duplicate credentials online at ServiceArizona.com. Existing fees remain in place.
New Credential Design
As a part of this new central credential issuance process, ADOT is introducing a redesigned driver license and identification card. The redesigned permanent credential contains enhanced security features to safeguard personal information and help prevent identity theft.
