La Paz Transportation Study

Project Summary:

The principal focus of the study is to develop a comprehensive and coordinated long range transportation plan that will identify existing and future needs.  Significant population growth, economic development, and increased through/freight traffic in the county requires new collaborative planning to address the growing demands placed on the roads, streets and transportation networks.  The collaborating agencies are particularly interested in investigating the preservation and enhancement aspects of system performance, safety, access management, and mobility across all modes of transportation. The study should also identify methods to adequately serve and continue to attract an increasing level of recreational tourism, and the safe and efficient movement of both freight and people.

The La Paz Transportation Planning Study will be conducted according to a cooperative planning process involving stakeholders that include public agency staff, elected officials, and the public. Throughout the study, information will be presented to and solicited from stakeholders through individual interviews, focus group meetings, public meetings, and other means of communication.
