North Havasu Area Transportation Study

Project Summary:

The principal focus of the study is to address the most critical transportation planning needs identified by the jurisdiction(s). This may include, but is not limited to a needs analysis of all roads with in the identified boundaries of the study area. Current conditions may be inventoried, needs assessed, and deficiencies identified. The Study will examine multimodal needs and identify opportunities to address related deficiencies. Significant population growth and economic development in the Study area requires new comprehensive planning to address growing demands placed on the areas’ roads and streets. The study limits include: The area immediately to the north of the community, representing approximately 12 undeveloped state land sections and several hundred acres of undeveloped and underdeveloped private and public parcels north of the original Lake Havasu City Irrigation and Drainage District and city limits. SR 95 forms the western boundary of the proposed study area. The eastern boundary is the BLM/State Lands border near the Mohave Mountains. The northern boundary is the area of the Airport, the future Parkway/Bypass and SR 95 intersection, including the city owned properties to the south and east of this area. The area represents approximately 15 square miles.

The North Havasu Area Transportation Planning Study will be conducted according to a cooperative planning process involving stakeholders that include public agency staff, elected officials, and the public.  Throughout the study, information will be presented to and solicited from stakeholders through individual interviews, focus group meetings, public meetings, and other means of communication.
