Railroad repairs scheduled at Avenues 36E and 40E east of Yuma

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes

YUMA — Union Pacific Railroad plans to repair the railroad crossings at Avenues 36E and 40E east of Yuma over the next two weeks. The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to use alternate routes to avoid delays as the roadways will be temporarily closed during work hours.

Railroad repairs at Avenue 36E are scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. Aug. 19 to 6 p.m. Aug. 21. Railroad repairs at Avenue 40E are scheduled the following week beginning at 6 a.m. Aug. 26 to 6 p.m. Aug. 27.

Message boards and signs will be placed along I-8 to inform drivers of railroad closures and alternate routes. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid delays.
