An estimated 10,000 Valley residents joined ADOT to
celebrate the completion of Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway)
and Proposition 300 on July 15, 2008. |
The completion of Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway not only signifies
the completion of Loop 202, it also celebrates Proposition
300, a half-cent transportation excise tax (or sales tax)
Maricopa County voters approved in 1985 which made this and
so many other transportation projects possible in the Valley.

which includes $9 billion in regional freeway improvements
in Maricopa County, became effective January 1, 2006. |

Our Valley Freeway System is part of the 2004 voter-approved Regional Transportation Plan. We are working hard with our transit partners to implement the voters’ vision and are committed to quality, safety, open communication with our neighbors, and minimal inconvenience to the traveling public. |
