Action Teams

The Environmental Servant Leadership Team created seven Action Teams, which include:


Environmental Handbook for Transportation Operations Team (EHTO)

This team is tasked with developing a document that identifies routine maintenance activities, incorporates Best Management Practices for those activities, and defines when an activity requires a Work Order request. The goal of the EHTO team is to create a document useable by field personnel and supervisors to expedite routine maintenance activities.

Maintenance Clearances

The team provides processes for obtaining environmental clearances and technical assistance for maintenance projects that provide statewide consistency, accountable process tracking, and accessible filing and archiving of work products. The team also defines environmental requirements for ADOT maintenance crews conducting "emergency operations."

Mitigation Measures

This team promotes the monitoring and follow-through of environmental mitigation measures for ADOT projects, thus ensuring full compliance with local, State, and federal laws.

Education Action Team

This team identifies needs and facilitates initiation of an education and training program for ESLT members.

Stockpile Action Team
This team identifies parameters for compliance for temporary and permanent storage of materials in the ADOT right of way.

Leigh Waite (Chair), Tom Engel, Danny Russell, Wendy Terlizzi

Revegetation Action Team
This team reviews ADOT’s revegetation practices and identifies opportunities for program improvements.
