An initial analysis identified five possible river crossing alternatives for the Loop 303 from the west of Tuthill Road bridge to Cotton Lane.
Based on a preliminary review of aerial photography, current land uses, topography, and an inventory of engineering and environmental constraints, three of the river crossings are not recommended for further study - Alternatives 1, 2, and 4.
Two proposed alternatives, Alternative 3 (Perryville Road/Rainbow Valley Road) and Alternative 5 (Cotton Lane), have been recommended for additional detailed study. After a preliminary Gila River crossing alternative is identified based on agency and public input for this study, further detailed engineering and environmental studies will occur.
