Project Details:

The Lone Mountain Road interchange, which is approximately 2 miles south of SR 74 (Carefree Highway) will serve as the interim connection between I-17 and Loop 303 until completion of the freeway-to-freeway interchange. As part of the first five-year phase of the Regional Transportation Plan, Loop 303 is being extended west of I-17, initially as a four-lane divided highway.

Initial construction of the interchange concluded in spring 2010 as part of the I-17 project. The interchange will be fully completed and opened to traffic in 2012, when Loop 303 is connected to I-17 at this location.

Interstate 17 has been elevated by approximately 25 feet in this area to accommodate the future freeway-to-freeway traffic interchange.
