The Arizona Department of Transportation has completed the first phase of the project to repave a 7.5 mile segment of US 93 from Grandview Avenue in downtown Kingman to Ranch Road near So-Hi Estates. Crews have finished applying the initial layer of asphaltic pavement. ADOT will return in the spring to apply the final layer of pavement. This work is expected to last approximately two weeks.
The project will include:
- Repaving 7.5 miles of US 93, both north and southbound lanes.
- Paving traffic interchange ramps on State Route 68 north of Kingman.
- New curb and sidewalk on Beale Street.
What to Expect:
Access to all businesses within the project limits will be maintained at all times during construction. The project will be completed in three phases:
Phase One:
- Preliminary construction work is taking place off the main roadway.
- The north and southbound lanes of US 93 will be restricted through end of August at the Johnson Wash Bridge as crews remove and replace the existing bridge railing.
Phase Two:
- Paving will begin north of Kingman from So-Hi Estates to the SR 68 traffic interchange in early September, and will include the Coyote Pass section. This daytime work will take place 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Phase Three:
- Paving on US 93 in downtown Kingman and the SR 68 traffic interchange ramps is expected to begin mid-September, and to be completed by the end of September. This overnight work will take place 6 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
- Additional paving is scheduled for completion in October.
- Permanent lane striping will be applied in November.
There is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
