Construction to install roadway lighting in Sedona on State Route 89A from Dry Creek Road to Airport Road continues this week through the end of April. The $4.3 million project also includes a new traffic signal at Andante Drive and roadway repaving from Arroyo Piñon Drive to just west of State Route 179.
Placement of underground electric lines will require moving lane restrictions on SR 89A from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday. In order to provide a safe work zone and improve the flow of traffic, signage and work crews will direct traffic around the work zones. Motorists will be unable to make left turns at some locations along the project area.
Motorists are advised to pay close attention to signage and observe posted speed limits which will be reduced in the work zones.
Lane restrictions will be removed at the end of each work day and access to businesses will remain open throughout the project area.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
