Construction continues on Cordes Junction traffic interchange

Overnight lane restrictions on I-17 scheduled

October 7, 2011

The Arizona Department of Transportation will continue night work on Interstate 17 at State Route 69 (Cordes Junction) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 9) through Thursday (Oct. 13). Crews are restriping the traffic lanes on I-17 and performing work on the northbound bridge over Big Bug Creek. The work is part of the project to reconstruct the Cordes Junction traffic interchange.

Alternating lane restrictions will occur on I-17 northbound and southbound from Big Bug Creek to one-half mile north of the Cordes Junction bridge to provide a safe work zone for construction personnel.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
