ADOT completed a new project along Interstate 10 from Kino Parkway to Valencia Road in Fall 2011. Improvements made to the area included removing the existing top layer of pavement, repairing the concrete pavement beneath the top pavement layer, applying a new, smooth driving surface with rubberized asphalt, applying new roadway markings and reconstructing guardrails
The project also repaved all on and off ramps and the roads directly beneath I-10 between Kino Parkway and Valencia Road. Ramp and roadway repaving was completed at Kino Parkway/South Campbell Avenue, South Country Club Road, Palo Verde Road, Irvington Road, Alvernon Way and Valencia Road
