Perform End-Product Asphaltic Concrete testing in accordance with Arizona test methods and ADOT Standard Specifications
Perform Independent Assurance and correlation sampling, testing, and reporting in accordance with the Materials Quality Assurance Manual
Review and approve hot asphalt mix designs
Test liquid asphalt
Perform structural inspections of pre-stressed concrete girders
Certify concrete cure
Perform inspections and certify pre-cast concrete manhole cones/cover/rings, pipes and box culverts
Perform sampling and testing of emulsified asphalt in accordance with AASHTO and Arizona test methods
Certify contractors' asphalt cement distributor truck as required
Test Portland cement concrete cylinders in accordance with ADOT Standard Specifications
Review and approve Portland cement concrete and asphaltic concrete mix designs for construction organizations in the Region
Certify concrete mixer trucks for concrete suppliers
Test fencing and wire products in accordance with ADOT test methods
Perform abrasion testing of aggregates used in subbases, bases, asphaltic and Portland cement concrete, in accordance with AASHTO test methods
Perform pH and resistivity tests of soils and aggregate materials in accordance with Arizona test methods
Coordinate annual sampling and testing of aggregates for the ADOT Source Approval Program
Sample local rebar as necessary
Conduct the Radiation Safety Program in accordance with Department procedures, regarding construction organizations using nuclear gauges in the Region
Perform testing of materials used by maintenance organizations within the Region, as required
Regional Materials Engineer provides technical assistance to project personnel, aids in Material issue escalations and has an active role in the development of Material Group Policy and Materials Specifications
