Weekend work scheduled on US 95 south of QuartzsiteCrews working this weekend so highway can be clear for Memorial Day holidayMay 17, 2012 Crews working on a widening and improvement project on US 95 south of Quartzsite will work daily beginning Friday (May 18) through Thursday (May 24) in an effort to remove all restrictions in time for the busy Memorial Day travel weekend. No work or restrictions are scheduled over Memorial Day weekend. What to expect between mileposts 96-104 on US 95 during the next week:
This roadway improvement project consists of repaving an eight-mile stretch of US 95 approximately 15 miles south of Quartzsite between mileposts 96-104. In addition, ADOT will build a northbound left-turn lane at milepost 82 (Cibola Lake Road) and a southbound right-turn lane at milepost 89 (Microwave Telephone Road). This project is scheduled to be completed by this summer. ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel. ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
