Motorists are advised to plan extra travel time when traveling through Wellton

May 2, 2012

The Arizona Department of Transportation is scheduled to apply oil to extend the life of the pavement along Interstate 8 in Wellton between milepost 29 and milepost 37 Tuesday (May 8) and Wednesday (May 9).

What to expect next week:

  • Traffic will be intermittently narrowed to one lane along eastbound and westbound I-8 from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
  • Intermittent ramp closures are scheduled at Avenue 29E in Wellton on Wednesday (May 9).
  • Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
  • Message boards will advise drivers of lane restrictions.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
