Paving work scheduled at Hovatter Road and Sorefinger Road on Interstate 10 beginning Monday

Motorists advised to plan ahead and expect delays

April 19, 2012

Construction crews will begin daily paving at the Hovatter Road traffic interchange (Exit 53) and the Sorefinger Road crossroad beginning Monday (April 23) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists can expect intermittent ramp and lane closures during work hours. Motorists should plan ahead and expect delays during work hours.

Message boards and signs will advise drivers of restrictions and law enforcement officers will be on-site to enforce speed limits and control traffic.

Paving work at these two locations is scheduled to be completed by Friday (April 27). However, Interstate 10 paving between milepost 52 and 63 will proceed until mid-June.

ADOT advises drivers to allow additional time to reach their destinations and to proceed through the work zone with caution, comply with the reduced speed limit, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
