Overnight maintenance work scheduled at Avenue 8 1/2 E exit on westbound Interstate 8 in Yuma Wednesday

Motorists advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes

Construction crews will work overnight Wednesday to apply flood prevention and irrigation measures along the Avenue 8 1/2 E exit ramp on westbound Interstate 8 beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday (April 4) until 8 a.m. Thursday (April 5). Motorists should plan ahead and use alternate routes during work hours.

Message boards and signs will advise drivers of restrictions. Law enforcement will be on-site to enforce speed limits and control traffic.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
