Repair work on Interstate 8 between the AZ/CA state line and 16th Street in Yuma scheduled next week

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time

March 23, 2012

Crews continue to repair the pavement along Interstate 8 from the state line to Fortuna Road in Yuma. One lane will be closed along eastbound and westbound Interstate 8 during work hours beginning Monday (March 26) through Thursday (March 29) as crews work to replace sections of pavement near the exits, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

What to expect next week:

  • One lane will be closed along eastbound and westbound I-8 from the AZ/CA state line to 16th Street between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays
  • Message boards and signs will be in place to advise motorists of lane restrictions.
  • The speed limit will be reduced and law enforcement will be on-site to monitor traffic and control speeds.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
