Concrete repairs along Interstate 8 continue in the Yuma area from the state line to Fortuna Road. Shoulder work at Araby Road is scheduled for Thursday (March 15), Friday (March 16) and Monday (March 19).
What to expect during scheduled repairs:
- Eastbound shoulder of I-8 will be closed at Araby Road from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Westbound shoulder of I-8 will be closed at Araby Road from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- One lane will be closed each day on eastbound and westbound I-8 at 16th Street from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Message boards and signs will advise drivers of restrictions. Law enforcement is on-site to help monitor speed and control traffic.
No work is scheduled on holidays or weekends. This project is scheduled to be completed in spring 2012.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
