Adopt a Highway Program

Helping to keep Arizona's roads clean and beautiful for over 20 years!

The Adopt a Highway Program provides a way for individuals, organizations, or businesses to help maintain sections of the roadside within the Arizona State Highway System.

There are two ways to Adopt a Highway:

VOLUNTEER program

SPONSOR program

Volunteer groups can adopt a two-mile section of highway by filling out a two year permit application.

ADOT provides safety training, trash bags, and two single post recognition signs (36" x 24") to be used at each end of their adopted section.

Volunteers must wear safety vests during all cleanup activities.

For more information, visit the Adopt a Highway Volunteer Program page.

Under the Sponsor Program, roadside litter removal work is performed by an approved maintenance provider, chosen by the sponsor.

Sponsor Program Members get to purchase a two post recognition panel (36" x 84") for their highway section.

For more information, visit the Adopt a Highway Sponsor Program page.

To report Littering call the Litter Hotline 1.877.3LITTER
