US 191 Cold Creek Canyon Bridge Replacement Project

The Arizona Department of Transportation is replacing the Cold Creek Canyon Bridge on southbound US 191 in Greenlee County. The old bridge, constructed in 1941, was demolished after damage to the structure was discovered in August 2010.

The new bridge will be a 400-foot-long, five-span structure which will be built to current standards and is expected to be completed by summer 2013. The $5.5 million project also will include repaving a five-mile segment of US 191 in both directions, erosion control improvements on the adjacent bridge for northbound US 191 and new barrier walls on the nearby Rattlesnake Canyon Bridge.

The project area is located between the community of Three Way and the Town of Clifton in southeastern Arizona.
