Construction along State Route 89A in Sedona from Dry Creek Road to Airport Road continues next week, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The $4.3 million project includes the installation of roadway lighting, a new traffic signal at Andante Drive, and roadway resurfacing from Arroyo PiƱon to just west of State Route 179.
Crews will continue installing underground electric lines the week of April 23, which will require moving lane restrictions on SR 89A from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Traffic will be restricted to one lane eastbound through the work zone from Soldiers Pass Road to Airport Road Monday and Tuesday. Traffic will be restricted to one lane westbound at Dry Creek Road Wednesday and Thursday. Lane restrictions will be removed at the end of each work day.
Motorists are advised to pay close attention to signage and observe posted speed limits which will be reduced in the work zones.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
