State Route 189 (locally known as Mariposa Road) is a 3.75-mile long, ADOT-maintained highway in Nogales, Arizona. SR 189 runs from Interstate 19 to the US-Mexico Border.

ADOT is currently working on two separate improvement projects for the roadway:

• SR 189 Interim Improvements - completed summer 2012: Planned Improvements Near the Mariposa Land Port of Entry
• SR 189 Long-Term Study: International Border to Grand Avenue Design Concept Report and Environmental Assessment

In addition, ADOT and the City of Nogales are working to develop a pedestrian circulation plan for downtown Nogales and the vicinity of the Mariposa Land Port of Entry. For more information on that project, please visit the project site.
