Construction of the I-10 (Val Vista to Earley Road) Widening Project began in January 2011. This project is part of ADOT's vision to increase capacity along this heavily-traveled corridor on I-10 between Tucson and Phoenix. The residents of Casa Grande and I-10 motorists will be able to enjoy a new and improved segment of interstate highway that will better serve the area. This $31 million, 10-mile project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012.
Project Features:
- This segment of I-10 will be widened from two to three lanes in each direction.
- Road improvements will be made at McCartney Rd. and Florence Blvd. traffic interchanges, as well as repaving Val Vista Rd., Cottonwood Ln., and Earley Rd. overpasses.
- Over a mile of sound walls will be built south of Florence Blvd along the Mission Royal Community.
- Thanks to funding from the Surface Transportation Enhancement Fund, new landscaping will help drivers enjoy their drive along the corridor through the City of Casa Grande area.
