September 12, 2012
Weather has led to the final rubberized asphalt paving on the Interstate 10 widening project to be delayed a number of times. Crews are scheduled to finish paving over the next two nights provided there are not any additional weather delays. Motorists should expect lane restrictions along I-10, McCartney Road and Florence Boulevard as well as to the on and off-ramps in the work zone.
Although this paving does not signal completion of the project, when this paving is finished all three lanes of traffic in each direction will open. As work continues after the paving, there will still be periods of time when restrictions are necessary to finish the widening project, so please use caution when traveling in the work zone and follow detour signs. Drivers should be aware of the following restrictions:
Wednesday, September 12
- Eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Florence Boulevard closed from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday (September 13).
- Westbound I-10 on-ramp at Florence Boulevard closed from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday (September 13).
- McCartney Road narrowed to one lane at I-10 from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday (September 13).
- Florence Boulevard narrowed to two lanes at I-10 from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday (September 13).
Thursday, September 13
- Westbound I-10 narrowed to one lane near Picacho Peak Road from 7 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday (September 14) for emergency repair work repair.
- McCartney Road narrowed to one lane at I-10 from 7 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday (September 14).
