As work continues on the I-10 widening project near Casa Grande, drivers should be aware of the following restrictions:
- Eastbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane between McCartney Road and SR 287 from 7 p.m. Monday (March 19) to 6 a.m. Tuesday (March 20) for overhead sign work.
- Eastbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane between SR 287 and Earley Road from 7 p.m. Tuesday (March 20) to 6 a.m. Wednesday (March 21) for overhead sign work.
Construction on this I-10 widening project began in January 2011. Once completed in late 2012, I-10 will be widened from two to three lanes in each direction between Val Vista and Earley roads. Road improvements will also be made at McCartney Road and Florence Boulevard traffic interchanges, as well as repaving Val Vista Road, Cottonwood Lane, and Earley Road overpasses.
The construction schedule is subject to change due to a variety of reasons, including weather, material availability and mechanical difficulties. ADOT advises drivers to proceed through or near work zones with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
