The Arizona Department of Transportation will install pavement markers on the newly constructed Interstate 10 overpass at State Route 90 near Benson early next week.
Motorists can expect the following travel restrictions during this work:
- On Monday, Dec. 10, the right lanes of both eastbound and westbound I-10 will be closed from 6:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. for a three-mile stretch that includes the interchange with SR 90. Ramps connecting I-10 and SR 90 will be open during work hours.
- On Tuesday, Dec. 11, the left lanes of both eastbound and westbound I-10 will be closed from 6:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. for a three-mile stretch that includes the SR 90 interchange.
The eastbound lane closures will begin at approximately milepost 300. The westbound lane closures will begin at approximately milepost 303. The SR 90 interchange is located at Exit 302 on I-10.
The posted speed limit will be 45 mph in the work area on both days.
Construction is nearing completion on the $27.6 million project that included construction of the new overpass bridge, replacement of a section of curves on I-10 west of the bridge and the widening of SR 90 south of the interstate.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
