She began her government service career in 1985 as a State Senate staff member, eventually serving as top aide to the Senate President. Her work in the field of Motor Vehicle administration began in 1993 when she was hired as Deputy Director of the Maricopa County Auto License Department.

   Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree from Arizona State University and numerous courses in management, strategic planning and program development. She currently serves on the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators Legal Services Committee as Region IV Vice-Chair and is active in community and civic organizations.
