Construction Alert: Lane Closures on I-19

March 11, 2008

Tucson, Arizona: The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will close two-mile segments of lanes on northbound and southbound Interstate 19 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., every Monday through Thursday, and from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., every Friday, from March 11 through the end of May. The intermittent lane closures will occur from the junction with Business Route 19 (Grand Avenue) to one mile north of Palo Parado Road (between Rio Rico and Tumacacori). Crews will be making road repairs.

One lane will be open at all times in each direction and drivers can expect no delays.

Motorists are advised to watch for construction personnel and public safety officers and to obey all posted speed limit signs and detour routes while traveling through the construction area.

Visit ADOT’s Travel Information site at az511 or dial 5-1-1 for information across Arizona.

Please buckle up, observe speed limits, and never drink and drive.
