Stephen Owen has managed research projects in the Intelligent Transportation Systems emphasis area for ADOT since 1997; he has also managed projects in the Traffic and Safety research emphasis areas at intervals, as required. The State’s research program includes projects by consultants, by state universities, and by the ATRC staff.
Mr. Owen previously spent three years on the staff of the Phoenix Construction District, where he coordinated design reviews of urban freeways, rural highways and local projects.
He also has twenty years of consulting experience as a construction engineer, contracting estimator, and design project manager, both in the United States and overseas.
His range of experience includes industrial and mine plant construction; heavy civil, mine shaft, and tunneling projects; and nuclear waste storage facility pre-design studies.
Mr. Owen’s BA degree is from New Mexico State University, and he is a registered Civil Engineer in Arizona. |
