Estomih 'Tom' Kombe, PhD, PE Research Project Manager 602.712.3135 PhD - Industrial Engineering - Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, University of Alberta, Canada Bachelor of Science in Engineering, University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania Tom started working part time at the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) as a graduate research associate attached to the Arizona Transportation Research Center (ATRC) while a full time graduate student at Arizona State University (ASU).  He was employed and paid by the University at the time under a contract & funding arrangement with ADOT.  In 1995 Tom joined ADOT, specifically the staff of ATRC, to perform and manage transportation research projects.  He is a registered professional engineer (Industrial) in the state of Arizona. Earlier in his career, Tom was a member of the academic staff of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania, where he taught Project Management and Industrial Safety classes.  As part of his professional development program he also worked for Argo Materials Handling Systems Company of Edmonton, Canada for a period of 15 months. He played a key role in successful initial effort by this loading lift equipment manufacturer to migrate its inventory control functions to a personal computer based system.
