Pedestrian Safety Action Plan Study

Project Summary:

To reduce the number of pedestrian crashes throughout Arizona, the state of Arizona is participating with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) as one of fourteen focus states receiving technical assistance to reduce pedestrian crashes, fatalities, and injuries. The Arizona Department of Transportation is leading the initiative in coordination with FHWA Arizona Division Office and the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety. The purpose of the ADOT Pedestrian Safety Action Plan is to recommend actions that when funded and implemented will reduce the number and rate of pedestrian crashes, fatalities, and injuries on the Arizona State Highway System. The Plan will establish a framework and identify practical and achievable strategies to improve pedestrian safety on the State Highway System
