Town of Sahuarita El Toro Road Corridor Study

Project Summary:

The Town of Sahuarita was recently granted funding from the Arizona Department of Transportation Planning Assistance for Rural Areas program to conduct the El Toro Road Corridor Study. The project is located in the Town of Sahuarita within a two-mile radius along the current El Toro Road alignment. The study limits extend from Mission Road on the west to Wilmot Road on the east.

The Town of Sahuarita and ADOT are collaborating to evaluate the existing multimodal transportation system and identify future needed improvements for the El Toro Corridor Feasibility Study in the Town of Sahuarita.  The study began in late August 2011 and is expected to last 12 to 18 months.

The Town of Sahuarita El Toro Corridor Study will be conducted according to a cooperative planning process involving stakeholders that include public agency staff, elected officials, and the public.  Throughout the study, information will be presented to and solicited from stakeholders through individual interviews, focus group meetings, public meetings, and other means of communication.
