Interstate 10 and State Route 210 Feasibility Study

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration and the Regional Transportation Authority, is evaluating improvements in two areas in the eastern Tucson area: Interstate 10 east of the I-10/I-19 interchange to State Route 83; and SR 210 (Barraza-Aviation Parkway) from Golf Links Road to a future connection with I-10 in southeast Tucson. The purpose of this study is to improve traffic flow on I-10 and to connect SR 210 with I-10.

The study has been divided into two phases and Phase One is currently in the final stages. A Final Report regarding Phase One will be available summer 2012.

Phase One - Feasibility Study and Environmental Overview: Includes preparation of an engineering and environmental overview report for both the I-10 east of the I-19/1-10 traffic interchange to SR 83 segment and SR 210 (Barraza-Aviation Parkway) to a future connection with I-10 in southeast Tucson.

Phase Two - Design Concept Report and Environmental Assessment: Includes preparation of a Design Concept Report and Environmental Assessment, to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act, for both the I-10 east of the I-10/I-19 interchange to SR 90 segment and SR 210 (Barraza-Aviation Parkway) to a future connection with I-10 in southeast Tucson. Phase Two is expected to begin sometime in 2012 and completed by 2014.
