Organization Description
The
Utility and Railroad Engineering Section consists of 16 Team Members.
The team members serve in one of four discreet subsections
which are responsible for utility/railroad coordination (statewide);
utility/railroad coordination (regional freeway program); administering the
Federal railroad/highway crossing improvement program; utility company
invoicing/accounting and administrative/technical support.
The purpose for
utility/railroad coordination is to ensure that no unexpected utility-related
delays or expenses occur during highway construction. The purpose of the
Federal railroad/highway crossing improvement program is to improve safety at
public crossings within Arizona. The purpose of the accountant is to ensure
that utility-related invoices are processed in an accurate and timely manner as
well as requesting audits to ensure that funds have been handled appropriately.
Mission Statement
To forestall utility-related delays and hazards on ADOT highway construction projects by anticipating and resolving utility conflicts prior to bid advertising. In addition, Utility and Railroad Engineering Section will administer the Federal railroad/highway crossing improvement program in order to increase safety of public railroad crossings in Arizona.
