The US 60 (Grand Avenue) improvement project will construct a new right turn lane onto 71st Avenue for northwest-bound Grand Avenue traffic. Also, sidewalks on the north side of Grand Avenue between 71st and 75th avenues will be constructed, sidewalk ramps at various locations will be installed, and pavement preservation between 71st and 84th avenues.
The project is located entirely within the City of Peoria and runs roughly between 71st Avenue and Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway). Construction is scheduled to begin in early July and be completed by early 2013.
The work will require weekday lane restrictions, generally between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Work times may be adjusted depending on traffic conditions. Drivers also can anticipate lane restrictions at night and on some weekends.
The timeline represents the required steps in the development of a roadway or roadway improvement. In addition to establishing a funding source, there is a series of required planning and environmental studies before a roadway is constructed. More . . .
